Do you use some Garmin smart devices for tracking your sport activity? If yes, probably you will sometimes get message "Invalid" which appears in the end of your activity when you would like to save your completed activity.
Do you know what that means? It means that your tracked data cannot be transferred from your Garmin devices to the Garmin Connect application. If the activity was just one of many, you probably won't mind, but if you achieved something, it won't be recorded. And that's a shame. However, there is a solution that can help you.
How to repair invalid activity on Garmin device - step by step guide.
First, it should be noted that data cannot be transferred from the watch using standard synchronization with the Garmin Connect app via Bluetooth and your mobile phone. You will need to connect the watch to your computer via a USB cable.
That is the first step -> Connect your watch to your computer via a USB cable and launch Garmin Express, which will start synchronizing your data.Wait for data synchronization.
Open the watch's storage space via File Explorer (as if you were using a USB flash drive) and find the directory: Garmin / Activity / and in it, the so-called activity FIT file sorted by date.
Save the FIT file you found to your computer.
Step 2 - To view the contents of FIT files, use the service www.fitfileviewer.com. Go to the website and select the option: Open FIT file, where you can upload your activity file. After a moment, the file will load and you will see its status. In the report, you will probably see several detected errors marked with an exclamation mark, and you will also be able to view the content of the activity record and the measured metrics.
Fortunately, you won't have to edit anything manually, just use the "Download FIXED file" option. The application will automatically correct everything and offer to download the corrected FIT file.
Step 3 - Log in to the Garmin Connect WEB version (connect.garmin.com) and upload the corrected FIT file of your activity to Garmin Connect using the Import option, which you will find to the left of your account image.
The import must be completed without errors for the activity to be correctly added to your account. Such a manually added activity will not be transferred back to your watch and will not be counted towards your training status, but it will at least be recorded in your activity log.
